Do you think your child needs help with reading? The Summer Reading Program is for you. This program is for kids ages 5-11 (K-5) who are having issues with their reading in school. We help kids with their phonics, spelling, vocabulary, and literacy improvement. The Summer Reading Program is taught by a certified and experienced teacher who will utilize the Orton-Gillingham method that adapts to the needs of the student and is able to give your child the personalized attention they need so they can understand concepts. The program will run from June 20 through August 1 and will be held on Tuesdays and Fridays. There will be four time slots:
Two Morning Sessions:
Time slot A from 9:00-10:00 am,
Time slot B from 10:30-11:30 am
Two Afternoon Sessions:
Time slot C from 1:00-2:00 pm
Time slot D from 2:30-3:30 pm
Location: 10490 Bristow Center Dr. Bristow VA, 20136 ( located inside of the Kumon office)
The program will be taught by our seasoned teacher Michelle, who has been a teacher for 15 years and has obtained her second master's degree in the field of education from Liberty University. Michelle is Orton-Gillingham (OG) trained and has had much success with students using the OG program who are struggling with reading. The OG method is a hands-on approach that engages students and gets them involved in their learning. Register today because spots are limited due to keeping class sizes small—only 12 students per time slot.
